Abby is our "new" Technology Liaison -- you can talk about that and the mini-institute you'd like to do
Jenna is instructing our Digital Story Summer Camp for students in grades 4-8 -- you can talk about that
Both of you can describe the work you do as part of the Technology study group and any ideas you have from your work in your classroom or in your district
2. What is your sites' vision for its Web presence?
Mention the economy -- developing the web presence is a less expensive way to get TCs together
We want our TCs to be more social, so we thought developing a facebook page and doing some social networking (family pictures, special events, etc.)
Add a link to our website that goes to the facebook page
A facebook page would increase the continuity of our site
We can upload powerpoints from our Tech Study Group to share on our website
We thought of adding a digital story link with a tutorial for teachers to learn how to create/use digital stories and also include samples from the summer camp
Add links to our website (or facebook page) for free downloads e.g. photostory, free music (pandora), free photos
Add a link for a "spoken word" site and sites where authors read their writing and talk about their writing process
3. What elements are in place at your site that will support the development of the strategic plan your team creates for a Web presence?
We have a website (www.drwp.udel.edu) and a webmaster (Chris McBride at the ERC)
We have a core group of tech people from the study group who are learning and experimenting with technology and writing

We had talked a while ago about a summer mini-institute on writing and technology.That has slipped through the cracks at this point.Instead, there has been interest among the current study group participants to continue the group into next year.So, as part of the tech liaison position, we wanted you to facilitate another writing and technology study group during the 2010-2011 school year. Chris and I are thinking about a similar format - upstate and downstate groups.Each group will meet 4 times with discussion in between on Class Chatter or whatever blog site you want.Then in May there would be a project conference where everyone shares what he/she did.We would not piggyback on the Festival of Words again.We have funding for $450 stipends for 10 TC's. The book-study format worked well, but if you have other ideas, that would be OK as well.Let us know what you think!
